Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Jconnect handles personal information when you visit our website, contact us or use our AI automation services.

Last updated: 12 August 2026

1. Who we are

Judd Charkas is a sole trader operating under the registered business name JCONNECT AU (ABN 54 470 475 154), trading publicly as Jconnect in Victoria, Australia (referred to as “Jconnect”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We provide AI receptionist, booking and custom business automation services.

We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply. Questions about this policy can be sent to Jconnectau@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact and business details, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name and role.
  • Enquiry and project information, including the service you are interested in, messages, proposals, instructions, support requests and meeting notes.
  • Service and billing information, such as agreed scope, invoices, payment status and transaction records. Card or bank details may be handled directly by a payment provider rather than Jconnect.
  • Client-provided data processed while configuring, testing, supporting or monitoring an automation. This can include customer contact details, messages, booking details, call metadata, recordings or transcripts where the client has lawfully collected and authorised us to process that information.
  • Website and device information, such as pages viewed, interactions, referral source, browser and device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, and timestamps.

Please do not send sensitive information unless we have specifically requested it and agreed on an appropriate way to handle it.

3. How we collect information

We may collect personal information:

  • directly from you through our website, email, phone calls, meetings or documents;
  • from a business client that has authorised us to work with its systems or customer data;
  • from integrations and service providers used to deliver an agreed automation; and
  • automatically through website hosting, security logs and analytics technology.

If you do not provide information marked as required, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry, prepare a proposal or deliver the requested service.

4. Why we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and prepare recommendations, quotes or proposals;
  • design, configure, test, deliver, secure, support and improve our services;
  • communicate about projects, appointments, billing, support and important service changes;
  • operate and improve our website and understand which services interest visitors;
  • detect spam, misuse, security incidents and technical problems;
  • manage records, disputes and our legal or regulatory obligations; and
  • send marketing only where permitted, with an option to unsubscribe.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use website enquiry content to train a general-purpose AI model.

5. Service providers and overseas processing

We use trusted providers to operate our website and services. These may include website hosting and security providers, Supabase for enquiry database storage, PostHog for website analytics, email and communication tools, payment providers, professional advisers, and the integration or AI providers agreed for a client project.

Our current website setup may store or process information in Singapore (database services), the United States (analytics and some hosting or technology services), Australia, and other countries where an agreed provider operates. Privacy protections and laws in those countries may differ from Australia. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate privacy, confidentiality and security commitments.

We may also disclose information where authorised or required by law, to protect a person or our legal rights, in connection with a business sale or restructure, or with your consent.

6. Website analytics and cookies

We use PostHog to understand website visits and interactions. PostHog may use cookies or browser storage identifiers and may receive technical information such as pages viewed, clicks, browser and device details, IP-derived approximate location and event timestamps. We do not intentionally send the name, email address or free-text message entered in our enquiry form to PostHog.

You can restrict or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect some website functions. We may update our analytics choices as our website develops and will update this policy when our handling practices materially change.

7. Information processed for clients

When Jconnect processes a client's customer or staff information to provide an automation, we generally act on the client's documented instructions. The client remains responsible for deciding why the data is collected and used, providing required notices, obtaining required consents, and ensuring its use of the automation is lawful.

Project-specific data handling, retention, access and approved providers may be set out in a proposal, services agreement or data processing schedule. We do not use client customer data to train a general-purpose AI model unless the client expressly agrees in writing after receiving clear information about that use.

8. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and providers with security protections. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide and improve services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. We then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

9. Access, correction and deletion requests

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or request deletion where applicable, by emailing Jconnectau@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required or permitted by law. We will explain if we cannot fulfil a request.

10. Privacy questions and complaints

Send a privacy question or complaint to Jconnectau@gmail.com with enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge it within a reasonable time and aim to provide an outcome within 30 days.

If your complaint is not resolved, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

11. Children

Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate authority.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published here with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
